Display & Sound
The display 15.6 inch with 16:9 ratio, still LCD at resolution of 1366×768 which is somewhat a standard for the 15.6 medium class notebooks. The screen type is glossy, although it doesn’t reflect as much, but measuring the luminance at full brightness was somewhat disappointing. The full black was 10 cd/m2 and the white at full brightness did somewhere between 175 average. I have to note though that the brightness was not spreaded evenly at the display. The top-left part of the screen measured about 186 cd/m2 and the far top-right 170 cd/m2, which is quite a difference. Viewing angles seemed very well though.
The sound was probably the only thing that disappointed completely. It had only one speaker making it mono sound system and when at full volume its clearness wasn’t enough even for windows sounds so to speak. I know it is a budget notebook, but a 0.5W speaker costs them how much, maybe 0.3 cents? The noise test did measure a maximum of 82.6dB however, while playing the last 2 minutes of the song Halcyon by Orbital at full volume. I should note that the sound wasn’t the clearest I’ve heard from a notebook.
